How to extract all links from a web page

  1. Copy the address of a public web page from your browser and paste it above.
  2. Choose "Whole page" for every link, menus and footer included, or "Main content" for the links in the article only. Pick "Internal" or "External" links, and "Followed" or "Nofollow, sponsored, UGC" to check the rel of each link.
  3. Keep "Merge duplicates" on for one row per address with how many times it appears, or turn it off to see every link in page order.
  4. Press Extract links, read the counts, then copy the address list or the external domains, or download the table as a CSV file for a spreadsheet.

Questions and answers

What does the URL extractor list?

Every web link of the page (http and https), with its address, its anchor text, whether it is internal or external, its rel value (nofollow, sponsored, ugc, noopener...), and where it sits: navigation, header, content, sidebar, footer, or the rest of the body. Links in hidden menus count too, as search engines see them.

What is the anchor text of an image link?

Search engines use the image's alt text, so the list shows "Image: <alt text>". An image link without alt text shows "Image (no alt text)", which is worth fixing for SEO.

Which links are internal?

Links to the same host as the page, with or without www. Links to other hosts, subdomains included, are external. The page address after redirects is the one compared.

What do nofollow, sponsored, and ugc mean?

They are rel values that ask search engines not to pass ranking credit through a link: nofollow in general, sponsored for paid links and ads, ugc for links in comments and forum posts. Search engines treat them as hints. A robots meta tag with nofollow covers every link on the page; the result says so.

Why are email and phone links missing?

The tool lists web links only. mailto: and tel: links, javascript: links, and jumps to a part of the same page (#section) are left out, so it never builds lists of email addresses or phone numbers.

Does it check whether the links work?

No. It reads one page and lists its links without opening them, so it is fast and never crawls a site. Paste the address list into a link checker to test each one.

Why are links missing or the page refused?

The tool reads the HTML the site sends and does not run the page's JavaScript. Pages that build their links with scripts get a clear message instead of an empty list. Pages behind a login, a paywall, or a bot check cannot be read either.

Is it free? Are there limits?

It is free and needs no sign-up. Each visitor can extract a limited number of pages per minute, pages are read up to a size limit, and a result shows up to 10,000 rows.

Do you store the pages or my links?

No. The page is read once, its links are listed, and the list is sent back to your browser. Nothing is saved.

Can I use it from a script?

Yes. Open api/run?url=<page address>&format=text next to this page to get the addresses one per line, or leave out format=text to get JSON with the full table and counts. The options work as query parameters too, for example &type=external&rel=nofollow.
